Born out of a passion to work with some of man's most noble animals, Keith Russon and Ian Todd established the breeding operation in 2000, and it is currently managed by Johan Alberts.

Jane Thomas specialises in pre-training racehorses, as well as spelling and recuperation. She has worked in the SA Racing Industry since 1990. She held an open trainers license with the National Horse Racing Authority from 1990 - 2000. Jane's success in the racing world and her ability to understand the fundamentals of South African racing led her to start a pre-training facility at Far End in 2000.

| | Middlefield Stud
Rob and Michele Pickering both run their farm together, and have been breeding horses since 2002. Middlefield Stud has their own broodmare band, and they spell mares for clients.
Middlefield has bred to date Thunder Creek a winner of 9 races including the Group 3 Kings Cup, and Wishful Eye, who is showing a tremendous amount of promise after running a close second in the Listed Kwazulu Natal Stakes to Val de Ra.

Manny and Mandy Testa are the founders of Midlands Thoroughbreds. Having acquired the KZN Midlands Resort, Midlands Saddle & Trout, in 1999 they unknowingly became horse owners through this acquisition.
Manny and Mandy have since bought the farm next door to Midlands Saddle & Trout, ex "Burwell Stud" to improve and grow their breeding operation. The farm is 312 hectares with 30 weanling/yearling boxes, 32 standard boxes for spelling and 15 foaling boxes, with three stallion boxes and their own Kikuyu camps. They currently have 17 of their own broodmares.
