King Of Kings(IRE) Update Share

The Alan and Vera Sutherland owned Somerset Stud in Mooi River is a prolific farm with a rich breeding history. They stood King Of Kings (IRE) prior to the sale of their farm which saw the big son of Sadler's Wells being sent to Peter Blyth's Clifton Stud.

They have brought to our attention "another two 2 year old winners for KING OF KINGS in fine style. Tuesday at Scottsville saw LITTLE PRINCESS win about 3 lengths, owned, trained and bred by Gilbert Werner, ridden by A. Delpech and today at CLAIRWOOD the smashing REIGN AS KINGS owned by Mr. R J Koedyk, trained by Mike De Kock, ridden by Antony Delpech flew in by almost 5/6 lengths. We are thrilled to have bred and raised REIGN AS KINGS on behalf of Mr. Mark Tarry/R.Hanna.

"He is a stunning chestnut colt with an awesome gliding action who seemed to have loved his run today. This surely catapults KING OF KINGS into over R200,000 odd in stakes for his 2 year olds this season."

Reign As Kings is out of Lee Danzig by Qui Danzig. Lee Danzig is currently at Bush Hill Stud with a King Of Kings chestnut filly at foot. This mare is having great success with King Of Kings, with her first colt called Reign Victorious being a winner and placing 4 times from just 7 starts. Lee Danzig is currently in foal to King's Chapel, standing at Bush Hill Stud - himself a son of King Of Kings.

Reign As Kings finished second in his first start on 8 January 2012. This is indeed an exciting colt to watch out for. The NHRA Stats as of 24 January still have King Of Kings as South Africa's Leading Two Year Old Sire by Stakes Earned. Dupont trails behind him by approximately R60 000.
