Noble Tune's Half-Brother Impressive Come Back Win

Honor Code and Noble Tune
Honor Code, a half-brother by A.P. Indy to Gr2 and Gr3-winning Noble Tune who is currently standing his first season at Rathmor Stud, came back from an eight month lay-off due to injury to win most impressively at Aqueduct - coming from 10 lengths behind and having to switch out for room to win by a length from Maleeh on Saturday.
A winner of the Gr2 Remsen Stakes previously, Honor Code was favourite for the Kentucky Derby before succumbing to a suspensory injury which put him out of the running; he returned to work in late September.
Honor Code went off favoured in the field of nine, sat well off the pace, and closed under mild urging from Javier Castellano to get up in the shadow of the wire. Maleeh was second, and Monster Mash was third. The winner clocked six and a half furlongs in 1:17.33.
A winner of his debut last August at Saratoga, Honor Code closed for second behind Havana in the Gr1 Champagne Stakes. He then went on to outduel Cairo Prince to win the Gr2 Remsen, his last start in 2013. He now has three wins in five starts.
Owned by Lane’s End Racing and Dell Ridge Farm LLC, Honor Code was bred in Kentucky by Dell Ridge. He is by A.P. Indy out of Serena’s Cat, a daughter of Storm Cat; his third dam is Hall of Fame mare Serena’s Song.
Noble Tune and Honor Code's weanling half-sister by Tapit recently made world news when she sold for $US3-million at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, establishing a record price for a weanling sold at public auction in North America.
Noble Tune is the first son of Unbridled's Song to stand in South Africa, for a fee of R25 000 this season.
