Equarius Bloodstock has reported that stallion prospect Noble Tune is enroute to South Africa from the United States to stand his first season at Rathmor Stud.

The Gr2 and Gr3 winning son of Unbridled’s Song has been enthusiastically received by breeders around the country and he will be receiving a first class book of mares including the likes of Gypsy Queen – a mare that has produced amongst others dual hemisphere Gr1 winning Gypsy’s Warning and Gr2 winner Surabi.

Noble Tune is the first son of Unbridled’s Song to stand at stud in South Africa.

Unbridled’s Song recently made news with his flashy chestnut son Will Take Charge, who has been named in the top 10 log of the Longines World’s Best Racehorses. With a Timeform rating of 123, Will Take Charge - Eclipse Champion Three Year Old Male in 2013, is ranked 6th along with the likes of recent Epsom Derby winner Australia and Cirrus Des Aigles, and ahead of Wise Dan.

Having died at the age of 20 in July 2013, the grey stallion Unbridled’s Song stood at an imposing 17 hands - and a winner of the Gr1 Breeders Cup Juvenile and Florida Derby.

Described by Taylor Made President Duncan Taylor as "one of those great horses, he had it all—looks, pedigree, speed, and presence” - Unbridled’s Song defeated the likes of sires Hennessy, Honour And Glory, Louis Quartorze and Skip Away. He also took home the Gr2 Wood Memorial, and placed several other Group races. He has produced 17 Group One winners at stud and is an emerging Sire Of Sires. Dunkirk was leading freshman sire with his first crop of two year olds in January.

Sons of Unbridled's Song at stud already include sires of Gr1 winners in Even the Score and First Defence, his daughters have ranked him among the top broodmare sires, having produced many Group 1 winners internationally.

A handsome and athletic horse with an exceptional pedigree and race record, Noble Tune is indeed an exciting acquisition for South African breeding and racing in the future.

Noble Tune’s pedigree suggests that he will suit mares with the likes of King Of Kings, Caesour, Habitat, Abernant, Tudor Minstrel, Challenger, Sadlers Wells, Nureyev, Golden Thatch, Waterville Lake, Northfields, Dancer’s Image, Blushing Groom and Royal Charger.

Noble Tune will stand for a fee of R25 000.
