Scott Bros Welcome New Son Of Giant's Causeway For 2013 Share Scott Bros have welcomed yet another new sire on board for the 2013 season - a handsome Gr 3 winner at two years of age, Eightfold Path has a royal pedigree to match his goodlooks. He joins Crusade at Highdown Stud for their first book of mares this coming breeding season. A son of Giant's Causeway out of mare Divine Proportions by Kingmambo, the five-time Gr 1 winning mare is in turn out of Sadlers Wells/Mill Reef mare. Trained by Pascal Bary in France, Eightfold Path won the French Prix Eclipse Gr3 over 1200m, as well as the French Prix de Tancarville over 1200m. He also finished third in the Gr 3 Prix La Rochette over 1400m. He totalled four wins and place from age two to four, over distances of 1200m - 1600m. Winning his debut race impressively, Racing Post said of Eightfold Path: "By the style in which he [Eightfold Path] made a winning debut at Deauville on Saturday in a newcomers race, there were some other beautifully bred colts in the 6f event but Eightfold Path saw them off as he made virtually every yard of the running in the hands of Christophe Lemaire. At the post he had half a length to spare over the favourite Ephemere but won with something well in hand." His dam was an incredible racemare, and this colt is her first foal. A champion two year old filly, as well as a Top three and four year old in Europe, she took home five Gr 1 races including the French 1000 Guineas and French Oaks. Giant's Causeway, a Champion son of Storm Cat needs little introduction. With earnings of $127 million, he has sired 129 Stakes Winners and awarded three-time USA Champion Sire.
