The Mouseketeer - Bred by Bush Hill Stud

Kahal (by Machiavellian - Just A Mirage by Green Desert) standing at Summerhill Stud (Equus 2011 Champion Breeders - for seven consecutive years) - is currently topping the List of Leading Sires by Stakes in South Africa (courtesy of the Sporting Post) ahead of five-time Champion Stallion Jet Master, as well as Silvano, Western Winter and Captain Al.

To date his progeny have earned R1 818 861, almost R200 000 ahead of Jet Master.

Kahal's current leading earner is Bush Hill Stud-bred The Mouseketeer, winner of the recent Grade 2 Emerald Cup over 1450 metres at the Vaal, and Africa's richest race on sand.

His past Grade 1 winners include the likes of Desert Links, Equus Champion Filly Bold Ellinore, Backworth-Bred Chocolicious (also exported to Dubai), Spiced Gold and Noble Heir. His greatest export to date has been Art Of War, sold for 7 figures and placed in a Grade 2 event in Dubai.

His most expensive yearling sold at the 2009 Emperor's Palace National Yearling Sales for R2 400 000, named Uncle Tommy out of Badger Land mare Cousin Linda. Uncle Tommy is now a 4 time winner.

Kahal - Summerhill Stud Kahal's stud fee is significantly lower than the aforementioned stallions, whose combined service fees average approximately R100 000, as opposed to Kahal's fee of R45 000.

He is also the sire of Rathmor's famous white colt now named Gran Blanco, who is turning out to be a stunning individual and looks very much like his father in conformation, with a lovely big hindquarter.

He has 22 well-bred individuals on offer at the 2011 Ready-To-Run Sale and it might be a great opportunity to take advantage of this exceptional stallion who has proved himself time and time again.
