Scott Bros had a great weekend's racing with six winners produced by their stallions over three days at four tracks - three winners on Sunday at Scottsville alone each by Miesque's Approval (His Approval - bred by Stewart MacGregor), The Sheik (Boom Sheiktheroom bred by Far End Stables) and Atso (Risky Rosco bred by Clifton Stud).

Miesque's Approval was the sire of two winners including Backworth-bred Big Ambitions winning at Greyville on Friday evening and Light The Way winning at Turffontein, whilst Black Pepper [pictured above] notched his fourth consecutive win this afternoon at Flamingo Park.

Bred by the Scott Bros, the son of Black Minnaloushe out of Brazilian mare Corre Solta by Ski Champ(USA), has won his last four starts under Muzi Yeni at Flamingo Park – the last three starts over 1000m.

Carrying 61kgs, he beat Caribbean Bay into second position by a length – Caribbean Bay given a 4kg apprentice allowance in the race with Iron Dragon carrying 52kgs to finish third, seven lengths off Black Pepper.

His previous win at Flamingo saw Black Pepper carrying 61kgs to beat Announce gelding Boarding Call by two lengths and 6kgs in weight, whilst Caribbean Bay finished four lengths off carrying a matching weight of 61kgs.

It is Black Pepper’s seventh win for the five year old gelding in total, with seven places earned.

Now owned by Messrs Z Kirsten & R Singh and trained by Mr C Prinsloo, Black Pepper was sold as a yearling from Nationals in 2011 for R150 000 to Mayfair Speculators.

Black Pepper has earned almost R300 000 in stakes.

Congratulations to the Scott Bros and the winning connections.
