Monsieur Mogok, a four year old bay gelding by Mogok out of Miss Madam by Dolpour and owned by Robert Chung, bred by Scott Bros finished runner up in a Class 3 handicap at Sha Tin over 1800m - finishing very strongly from stone last under a brilliant ride by Jo Moereira who choose a rails run but found traffic, flashing up late to finish one and a half lengths behind a potential Derby candidate in Got Fly.

Clearly looking as if he will stay further, from a better draw and decent pace, he looks sure to progress through the divisions. Race replay can be found by following this link.

Monsieur Mogok was a R30 000 purchase from Bloodstock South Africa’s 2012 National Two Year Old Sale by Tony Zackey and subsequently transferred to the stable of Tony Millard in Hong Kong.

Monsieur Mogok won first time out in his only South African start, winning over 1600m at Turffontein in June 2013. A half-brother to three other winners, this is the dam-line of Gr2 Gold Bowl winner, The Eiger Sanction.

Mogok, the most successful son of Storm Cat to stand in South Africa and a half-brother to champion sire Machiavellian, has produced impressive International Group winners and places - the likes of Rathmor-bred Gr1 winning Gypsy's Warning, The Apache and Meteor Mike - the last two both bred by Scott Bros.

Robert Chung has been a longstanding supporter of South Africa enjoying great success with horses like Tiger Prawn, Sweet Sannette and Arabian Wager.

2013 Bloodstock SA Ready To Run graduate, Mint Master (Jet Master), is set to start the long journey to Hong Kong in February next year.

This follows the very successful Racing South Africa annual promotion last Friday at the Foreign Correspondents Club where Hong Kong legend Felix Coetzee was Guest of Honour.

With special attention being given to the export situation in Hong Kong this weekend, Bloodstock South Africa is looking forward to a bouyant 2015 Sales season. For more information, visit tba.co.za.
