The Scott Bros’ exciting young stallion Crusade has made a bright start to his stud career.

The former brilliant two year old was both popular and fertile in his first season last year, and his first foals now arriving, are causing a stir amongst all breeders lucky enough to have them.

Among Crusade’s first offspring to be born is this lovely filly out of Theta. This well bred youngster’s dam, by leading sire Kahal, was a smart racefilly who ran third in the Gr3 Three Troikas Stakes.

Crusade was a top-class racehorse, and among the leaders of his generation at two.His victories included a score in the Gr1 Middle Park Stakes – a race won previously by outstanding sires such as Bayardo, Tetratema, Djebel, Khaled, Sharpen Up, Diesis, Oasis Dream and Dutch Art.

He has the pedigree to match his race record – Crusade is a son of top sprinter and world leading sire Mr Greeley.

A son of Gone West, the now deceased Mr Greeley left behind more than 60 stakes winners, a tally which included the Gr1 winners Nownownow, Reel Buddy, Finsceal Beo, Western Aristocrat, Aruna, Saoirse Abu and leading sire El Corredor.

Crusade is out of the top-class racemare La Traviata – winner of the Gr3 Victory Ride Stakes. This is the same family as Sun Teddy – the male line ancestor of outstanding US sire Damascus.

A well bred stallion who was a top-class Gr1 winning juvenile, Crusade looks to have what it takes to make a successful and popular sire.
