| Share |
A.P. Answer has his first 3 fillies on the ground at Clifton Stud, and they are looking to be strong and athletic individuals.
The first foal born on 5 August is out of True Lily (by Joshua Dancer - Tritonia by National Assembly) and this mare comes from the exceptional family of Lily, her fourth dam. This family is one of South Africa's best, and has produced the likes of Geordoba, Villandry, Day Lily Delight, Ravishing, Vega, Royal Messenger, Saddlewood, Bold Thatch, Fort Defiance and Strelitzia.
True Lily achieved 6 wins and stakes won of R221,510 from 3 to 4 over 1000 - 1600m and she placed 6 times. She is the dam of a previous foal, a 2008 filly called Storming Lily by Black Minnaloushe (USA) and as a 3 year old is currently unraced.
This foal has a great future not only as a very capable racehorse but as a future broodmare prospect.
The second filly born on 11 August is out of Viennese Waltz (By National Assembly -Love To Dance by Harry Hotspur). The dam was a winner at 3, and she placed from only 6 starts. She in turn has produced 3 runners and 2 winners including Miss Vienna by Divine Force. Miss Vienna was a winner at 3 over 1000m, and she placed 5 times from only 10 starts. Waltzing Time by Anytime (IRE) was also a winner over 1000m and she placed 3 times.
Vienna Waltz' 2009 filly called Mesmerising Melody by Miesque's Approval (USA) sold for R150 000 at the 2011 National Two Year Old Sale that took place earlier this month.
The third dam of Viennese Waltz is Sea Chant, who happens to be the dam of 1976 Durban July winner Jamaican Music.
The third foal born on 18 August with very eye-catching markings is out of a Clifton bred mare called Cheetham Flag (by Allied Flag - Cheetham Hill by Print).
She is a 4 time winner from the age of 3-5 and placed 6 times over 1400m. She is the dam of 3 foals, and 1 runner and 1 winner, Cheet Em All by West Man.
Cheetham Flag also has an unraced 3 year old called Cheetham Wells by Hinton Wells, and a Mogok 2 year old called Blazing Flag, recently sold for R90 000 at the National Two Year Old sale.
This is the family of Hamildon Hill, Best Dressed, Well Dressed, Fashion Edition and African Appeal.
